I used to host with a large hosting company for 8 years and they drove me crazy. So I switched to Crucial Web Hosting. I have been with them for a week now, and I tell you that everything works better here.
I retained my domain registrar and I switched my DNS to Crucial Web Hosting. Initial setup went smoothly and my DNS was switched within a day (zero down time).
I specially like their virtual server environment. It makes your setup much easier and it almost makes you feel as if you are hosting on a dedicated server.
With 250GB of space on their basic shared hosting, I don't think you can ask for more. I am hosting a relatively small database driven site with them, and so far I have been very happy.
