Review Policy

This site is a collection of reviews gathered from around the Internet and from those submitted directly to this site. Each review is classified as positive or negative, and goes through a strict validation procedure.

If a review is negative, we look at what the problem was, and mark it as resolved if a representative of the hosting company, or the forum community involved, comes to a solid resolution on the issue.

Reviews submitted to this site are validated to make sure they are by a real person and actual customer of the hosting company. The following outlines the basic valiation procedure that we follow for submitted reviews:

  1. Check For The Obvious

    The first thing we do is check for the obvious tricks. A whois lookup is performed on the domain to make sure the reviewer's information matches not only the whois information, but the information that the hosting company has. We also check for DNS changes and history to see where they have been, and note any recent or suspicious moves.

    The content on the website itself is examined to check for recent changes. The reviewer's IP address is recorded, even if they are using a proxy, and we can see the geographical location of the reviewer. This is compared with the information from the hosting company to make sure they match up.

  2. Check For The Sophisticated

    In the second step, we check for more sophisticated tricks. We check the reviewer's details and site details for reasons they might give a fake review, such as being an affiliate of a hosting company, or to promote their site in hopes of monetary gain and exposure. This involves a lot of Googling, domain digging, address and location checks, and website digging for suspicious details.

  3. Bringing It All Together

    The final step is where we consider all the above factors and decide to approve the review or not. If the review is approved, it is posted to this site knowing that it has been verified as authentic.
